Nomura Securities Young Gun departs bank – exclusive

Richard Golaszewski, an almost decade-long veteran of the Japanese banking giant, has left to pursue a new opportunity.

A Nomura Securities banker who appeared in Secondaries Investor‘s Young Guns of Secondaries ranking last year has left the firm.

Richard Golaszewski, an executive director and almost decade-long veteran of the Japanese banking giant, left to pursue a new opportunity, according his farewell email obtained by Secondaries Investor.

“This was not an easy decision,” the email, dated 10 June, read. Golaszewski added he was proud of what the bank had achieved and that he had no doubts as to its continued success.

Golaszewski appeared as a Wild Card in the Young Guns of Secondaries Class of 2018. He was described by a buyside source as “one of the most creative and effective bankers in this space” and is well-regarded for his intellect and attention to detail when crafting solutions in challenging situations, Secondaries Investor reported.

At Nomura he focused on origination, structuring and execution of fund-linked derivatives, private equity fund financing, secondaries, OTC equity derivatives, quantitative investment strategies and hedging tools, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Nomura and Golaszewski did not return requests for comment.
