Idinvest appoints GC

Julien Princi, the former deputy general counsel for Amundi Asset Management, has joined the private equity and private debt firm.

Paris-based Idinvest Partners has appointed Julien Princi as general counsel, the firm said today. He will report to the firm’s partner and chief operating officer Syvianne Guyonnet.

Princi has spent the last 14 years working in the asset management industry. He specializes in the creation of private equity funds and related transactions, and has extensive experience with fund structures and both European and US regulation, according to a statement.

Princi joined the Idinvest’s Paris office this month from Amundi Asset Management, where he worked for more than eight years, most recently as deputy general counsel. In this position he was in charge of the firm’s private equity and real estate activities. During his time at Amundi, Princi also worked as head of compliance and risk for private equity funds in Paris before transitioning to Amundi Investors USA, where he held the same role.

Prior to Amundi, Princi worked at SGAM Alternative Investments as head of product administration and creation and before that with SG Asset Management as head of legal for the firm’s private equity division. Princi started his career at law firm Salans (now Dentons) in Paris, where he worked as a mergers & acquisition lawyer for almost five years.

This appointment is the fifth made by Idinvest this year. In July, the firm hired Stéphanie Courtadon as head of marketing and added Solomon Moos to its investor relations practice in Shanghai. In September, Sophie Beric was appointed to manage international and cross-border projects from its Paris office. Earlier this month, the firm hired Géraldine Usseglio to manage human resources.

Idinvest Partners has more than €6 billion in assets under management and is focused on the mid-market. It invests in private equity through primary fund commitments, secondaries transactions and direct investments, as well as investing in private debt opportunities. Its portfolio includes holdings in music streaming service Deezer and Secret Escapes, a private sales club for luxury hotels.
